The Russell Library, named for Charles Russell, one of the historic Maynooth College's most impressive and scholarly nineteenth-century presidents, is located off the western axis of the main cloister in the Pugin-designed complex that forms the core of the south campus.
The library had its origins in the collection of Fr. Andrew Dunne, an early librarian and President if the college, who left his 3000 volumes to the institution on his death in 1823.
